Emergency Plumber in Horseshoe Bay, Contact us Day or Night
If you have a burst pipe, a failed grinder pump, an overflowing water heater, or a sewage backup right now, call us first. Lantz Home Services dispatches licensed emergency plumbers across Horseshoe Bay 24 hours a day, including Applehead Island, Escondido, Summit Rock, and the Waters. We know the lift-station and grinder-pump systems these lakefront neighborhoods run on, so we arrive ready to fix the real problem, not guess at it.
Call 24/7: (512) 710-1032
First, stop the water. Then call us.
For most plumbing emergencies, the single most important step is shutting off the water supply before damage spreads. Locate your main shutoff valve (often near the water meter at the street, or where the supply line enters the home) and turn it clockwise until it stops. For a water heater leak, close the cold-water valve at the top of the tank. Once the water is off, call Lantz Home Services and we will walk you through the next steps while a technician is dispatched.
Horseshoe Bay homes carry some risks that a standard city lot does not: pressurized grinder-pump systems, well and softener equipment, propane-fired tankless heaters, and second homes that sit empty for weeks. A small leak in an unoccupied lake house can become a five-figure repair. That is why we treat every Horseshoe Bay call as time-sensitive.
The calls we get most in Horseshoe Bay
Burst or frozen pipes (Most urgent)
Hill Country cold snaps and exposed lines under pier-and-beam lake homes lead to splits and floods. We isolate, repair, and re-pressurize fast.
Failed grinder pumps (Lakefront specialty)
Low-lying lots near Lake LBJ rely on grinder pumps to move waste uphill to the main. When one fails, you get alarms and backups. We service and replace them.
Water heater failure & leaks (High damage risk)
Hard water shortens tank life. A ruptured tank or failed tankless unit can flood a garage or utility closet overnight. Same-day swaps available.
Sewer & drain backups (Health hazard)
Backups into tubs and floor drains need immediate clearing. We camera-locate the blockage so it does not come back next week.
Hidden leaks in vacant homes (Second-home risk)
Slab leaks, supply-line failures, and toilet runs in empty vacation homes. We respond for owners and property managers, and can coordinate access.
Well pump & pressure loss (No water)
On outlying properties on private wells, a lost-pressure or no-water call is an emergency. We diagnose pump, tank, and softener issues.
Horseshoe Bay neighborhoods we serve around the clock
Horseshoe Bay is not one kind of home. A gated island estate, a golf-course townhome, and a wooded acreage lot each have different plumbing systems and different failure points. We dispatch to all of them, and we know what to expect before we pull up the driveway.
Applehead Island — Gated waterfront estates with boat docks, irrigation systems, and pressurized sewage handling. We coordinate gate and HOA access on emergency calls.
Escondido — Golf-community homes with high-end fixtures and tankless systems. Hard-water scale and recirculation issues are common here.
Summit Rock — Hilltop custom homes where elevation and long supply runs affect pressure. We troubleshoot pressure loss and multi-zone shutoffs.
The Waters & Lakefront — Condos and lake homes near the marina, many used seasonally. Vacant-home leaks and grinder-pump alarms are our most frequent calls here.
Trails & Western Horseshoe Bay — Larger lots, some on private wells and septic. Well-pump and pressure-tank failures, plus softener service.
Horseshoe Bay Proper & Bay West — Established homes along the resort corridor. Aging galvanized and copper lines, slab leaks, and water-heater replacements.
Why Horseshoe Bay plumbing fails differently
Generic plumbers treat Horseshoe Bay like any suburb. It is not. The water chemistry, the terrain, and the way these homes are used all create specific failure patterns. Here is what actually drives emergency calls in this part of the Highland Lakes.
1. Hard water and mineral scale
Highland Lakes water is notably hard. Scale builds inside water heaters, tankless units, valves, and fixtures, shortening equipment life and triggering sudden failures. Many emergency heater leaks here trace back to years of untreated hard water.
2. Grinder pumps and low-lying lots
Homes below the main sewer line use grinder pumps to push wastewater uphill. When a pump motor burns out or jams, you get an alarm, then a backup. This is a Horseshoe Bay signature problem most general plumbers are not equipped to handle quickly.
3. Second homes sitting empty
A large share of Horseshoe Bay homes are weekend and seasonal properties. A leak that starts on a Tuesday can run for days before anyone notices. We work with owners and property managers on rapid response and access coordination.
4. Private wells and softeners
Outlying properties run on well pumps, pressure tanks, and softeners. A failed pump means no water at all, and a flooded softener can dump brine. These systems need someone who works on them regularly.
5. Hard freezes in the Hill Country
Texas freezes are infrequent but severe. Exposed lines, hose bibs, and lines in unconditioned spaces under lake homes split when temperatures drop, then flood when they thaw. Freeze events drive our heaviest emergency volume.
6. Propane-fired tankless heaters
Many homes out here run propane rather than natural gas, often feeding tankless water heaters. Scale, ignition, and venting faults can knock out hot water entirely and sometimes signal a safety issue worth an urgent visit.

Horseshoe Bay emergency plumbing FAQs
Do you really answer the phone 24 hours a day?
Yes. Lantz Home Services provides live, around-the-clock emergency dispatch, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
How fast can a plumber reach my Horseshoe Bay home?
Exact timing depends on traffic, weather, and call volume, especially during a hard freeze, but we prioritize active leaks, sewage backups, and no-water emergencies and give you an honest arrival window when you call.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Call immediately for a burst or leaking pipe, no water in the home, a sewage or drain backup, a failed grinder pump with an alarm, a leaking or ruptured water heater, or any active water you cannot stop. If water is spreading and you cannot shut it off, treat it as an emergency.
My grinder pump alarm is going off. What should I do
Stop running water in the home to avoid a backup, and call us. Grinder pumps move wastewater from low-lying Horseshoe Bay lots up to the main, and a failed pump can back up into the house. We service and replace grinder pumps and can often diagnose the issue over the phone.
Where is my main water shutoff?
It is usually near the water meter at the street or where the supply line enters the home. Turn the valve clockwise until it stops to cut water to the whole house. For a water heater leak only, close the cold-water valve on top of the tank. If you cannot find or turn the valve, call us and we will guide you.
Can you respond to a vacant or second home?
Yes. We regularly help Horseshoe Bay owners and property managers with leaks in homes that sit empty between visits. We can coordinate gate, HOA, and key access so the problem is handled even when you are out of town.
Do you work on homes with private wells and water softeners?
Yes. We service well pumps, pressure tanks, and softener systems common on outlying Horseshoe Bay and Highland Lakes properties, including no-water and lost-pressure emergencies.
Water where it should not be? Call now.

Preventative maintenance is the backbone of Lantz Home Services. Once again being part of their PM program I avoided a complete shutdown of our grinder pump. Lantz Master Plumber Justin Barnett arrived and I thought all was well until he requested that I take a “peek” into what I would describe as a total catastrophe about to happen at any moment. The grinder system was a horror of failing pump and sewage accumulation and related nasties. Justin told me my options from doing nothing to fixing it with 3 options, which were clearly defined with costs and various replacement components and when it would be finished. We chose wisely. Justin returned with all of the components and in 4 hours it was stripped completely and reassembled with new components. Justin is organized, articulate, educated and polite. Bravo Lantz Home Services PS. I worked in industrial Preventative Maintenance for 25 years. These guys are the real deal.- Randy L.

I had a great experience with Lantz Home Services. We ran into an electrical issue at our lake house late in the day, and I honestly didn’t think we’d be able to get an electrician out that evening. When I called, they reassured me that someone would be available—and they delivered. Nick, their electrician, arrived around 7 PM and had everything resolved by 9 PM. He was prompt, thorough, and very courteous throughout the entire process. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it efficiently, all at a very fair price. I truly appreciate their responsiveness and professionalism. I highly recommend Lantz Home Services and will definitely be using them again in the future.- Larry W.

Zachary was beyond helpful! He jumped straight to the problem, made sure everything was properly working, walked me through the fix and was straightforward from the get go about what the potential issues could be and what the estimated repairs were as well! He kept me informed and even shared pictures when I couldn't be there right away. After everything was done he put everything back the way it was. This was a grinder pump drainage pipe repair. The site looked as if he was never there! Five stars.- Simon V.

I had an excellent experience with this HVAC company and especially with Moses, who came out for a second opinion. After a previous technician tried to convince me that I needed a full system replacement (on a 4-year-old unit), Moses took a completely different and highly professional approach. He performed thorough diagnostics before suggesting anything and took the time to properly assess the system instead of jumping to conclusions. He confirmed that there was no leak, no major component failure, and that the system was actually in good working condition. The issue was likely electrical, not something requiring expensive replacements. This immediately put my mind at ease. What really stood out is their honesty and integrity. Instead of pushing unnecessary work, they were transparent about the fact that no major repairs were needed. They also documented their findings and shared everything clearly, which builds a lot of trust. Huge shoutout to Moses for being knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely looking out for the customer’s best interest. It’s rare to find this level of honesty in the industry. Highly recommend if you want accurate diagnostics and fair, trustworthy service.- Annamaria

Mark and Willie came out to the Christian Brothers Automotive pflugerville location and were able to handle the commercial plumbing issue that 3 other plumbing companies were not able to figure out. We will only be using them form now on the difference was night and day between them and the others. On a side note Willie’s service truck was the cleanest most well organized service truck we all had ever seen!!! They take pride in their service and we appreciate that in our service industry as well!- Ian D.
